Fairness Advisory

Running a fair, open and transparent process helps you get the desired business outcome

Recently, all levels of governments and public institutions have increased their reliance on the fairness role for large complex or politically sensitive procurements.  The primary objective of involving fairness resources is to provide objective evidence that the process has been run in a fair, open and transparent manner.

But the requirement for undertaking a “fair” transaction is not limited to the public sector – it also applies to private sector transactions. Shareholders, by way of the Board, want to be assured that their capital is spent properly. Suppliers want to be assured that they are not participating in a “cooked process”. And the management team wants assurance that the transaction process is likely to deliver the desired business outcome.

The fairness role is still in its infancy, and as a result, many organizations are struggling to identify when a fairness resource is good value for money.  PPI is one of the early adopters of fairness advisory services, having delivered its first fairness engagement in 1996. Since that time, PPI has delivered well over 50 distinct fairness engagements for the procurement of goods, services and infrastructure.

In each of these engagements, our role as fairness advisory has ensured a superior process and better business outcomes. Plus, PPI has never had a legal challenge on any of its procurements.
